The program's targeted population is at-risk youth from underserved communities. The Have-A-Chance program provides extended academic services outside of the student’s schools. more

"On September 20, 2004, Isaac Hayes will appear in Memphis, Tennessee for a very special fund-raising event for the Stax Museum of American Soul Music and Stax Music Academy. The museum is hosting a reception in honor of the home video release of Wattstax – The Special Edition. This newly remastered edition of the original 1973 Wattstax documentary, which chronicled the Wattstax concert and everyday life in Los Angeles at the time, includes Mr. Hayes' original concert ending performance of "Theme From Shaft," which was cut from the original film due to legal reasons and was "lost" for some 30 years. Mr. Hayes will be joined at the event by three other very special guests – former Stax Records president Al Bell, the concert's original host, Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Chuck D, who provides commentary on the new DVD with other music luminaries. At the reception, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Bell, Chuck D and Rev. Jackson will all speak about being at this famous concert that Stax Records planned and produced." more
